WHY WE CHOOSE TO LIVE TOXIN FREE

I (Christy) suffered from daily headaches, joint pain, massive fatigue, skin problems, intestinal issues, and multiple sensitivities for decades.  I went to doctor after doctor for answers, but they all tried to band-aid the problem, and never looked for the root cause.

In early 2015, I got my second set of braces.  Within the next month, I broke out in an extreme rash, all over my chest, neck, and chin.  At my mother’s instance, I went to the dermatologist and had a skin patch test done.  I had the most severe reaction to Nickel that this office had seen.  I also found I was allergic to Chromium and Bacitracin.  OK.  New plan… My braces were causing this horrible reaction because of the Stainless Steel wiring used, which contains Nickel.  My orthodontist was, luckily, familiar with Nickel sensitivities and had a plan to complete my treatment without the use of the Nickel-containing Stainless Steel parts.

After several years, of feeling less than my best, I finally hit a wall.  In June 2015, I broke out with several painful blisters that trailed up the left side of my face from my lip to the top of my head.  Turns out, my work environment was the cause.   I am the Vice President of my family’s metal fabrication company, where I have worked since I was 11 years old.  So I have been exposed to metals my entire life.  I hit a point to where my body could no longer detoxify, so I could no longer go to my office and was, fortunately, able to telecommute. My office is now at home!

I am blessed to have been introduced to the best naturopath ever.  She did genetic testing, and revealed that I have a homozygous MTHFR gene mutation which impairs my body’s ability to detox.  I also have other gene mutations that impair support to my methylation cycle.  So, what does this mean?  I had an imminent need to eliminate all toxins from my life.  This meant a radical lifestyle change, to say the least!  I cleaned out my medicine cabinets and my cleaning supplies and replaced them with natural alternatives.  I also had to change my diet and eat a low-nickel containing foods.  I also have several foods that have high to extremely high reactions to IGg and IGa responses.

We have chosen to use doTERRA products in place of all products we can purchase at the store.  This ranges from oils to support our health and wellness, to spa items to cleaning supplies.  Because of their high CPTG standards, I know that I can fully trust doTERRA to provide me with products that will not add to my toxicity.  The added bonus?  I get these products delivered right to my doorstep.  I don’t have to go out into an unsafe environment, riddled with chemicals that make me feel sick and I feel so much better than I did before!
